J B Spencer (September 7, 1935 - November 20, 2025)

Biography

J B Spencer was born in Millstone, Kentucky, the son of Joel and Nora Spencer. The family moved to Ohio when he was eleven years old. He married Barbara Lamb in 1955. The couple got their start singing in their home church. For several years, J B worked for a company called Ohio Steel Tube in Shelby, Ohio.

J B and Barbara along with their daughter Geniece, and sons Wade and Kevin recorded their first album billed as the Spencers in 1972. The couple continued to sing after their children moved on to start their own ministries. They had been married for 70 years when J B passed away in 2025.
